Wonton Baskets

Wonton or egg roll wrappers baked into a bowl shape using muffin pans.

Brush both sides with olive oil and bake wonton, that has been pressed firmlyinside a muffin cup, for 8-10 min or untill golden brown.

CHINESE SALAD BASKETS

INGREDIENTS:

2 tbsp Olive oil

2 cups Butter lettuce

½ cup Fresh peas

½ cup Cucumber

½ cup Radish

¼ cup Red pepper

¼ cup Red onion

2 tbsp Sesame seeds

2 Avocados

HOISIN DRESSING:

2tbsp Hoisin Sauce

1 tbsp Rice vinegar

1 tbsp Sesame oil

2 tbsp Oil

 

METHOD:

  1. Medium dice all ingredients and toss whisked dressing over
  2. Spoon into wonton basket and add slices of Avocado on top.
  3. Toast sesame seeds in the oven and sprinkle on

top

CHILLI LIME BAKED PRAWNS

INGREDIENTS:

Baked wonton baskets

Prawns

Lime juice

Lime Zest

Chili powder

Olive oil

Salt and Pepper

Baby Spinach and Rocket Leaves

 

METHOD:

  1. Mix the oil, zest, juice, chilli powder, salt and pepper together and rub into the prawns.
  2. Bake in the oven till cooked through 8 – 10 min- they will be opaque.
  3. Put baby spinach and rocket into wonton basket, add prawns on top and finish with lime crème fraiche

Sweet wonton baskets can also be made using cinnamon sugar and filled with crème patissiere, pannacotta, mousses, fruits and an assortment of exciting possibilities. Dipping the tips of the basket into melted chocolate will also give another element.
